The Spanish Publishers Association (FGEE), with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture has published a barometer of book reading and purchasing habits in Spain in 2017.
The barometer includes some interesting statistics with the total percentage of book readers increasing to 65.8% from 63% in 2016.
People reading on digital devices are big readers, reading 16.7 books each per year compared to paper book readers’ 11.6 books per year.
Physical books are still the most common way of reading comprising 75.2% of all books read. Perhaps more worrying is that of the digital books read, only 29.5% were paid for.
