The International Publishers Association fully supports Ragip Zarakolu as he continues to fight charges relating to statements he made in 2012. The 3rd Heavy Penal Court has now submitted a ‘red notice request’ to Interpol to ensure he appears before the court.

Vera Castanheira

The International Publishers Association (IPA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Vera Castanheira as the organisation’s new Counsellor for International Copyright Policy and Programs. Castanheira will lead the IPA’s international copyright policy work and the organisation’s relations with WIPO, WTO and other supra-national agencies.

200 participants gathered in Lagos, Nigeria, to attend the first IPA Regional Seminar on Publishing in Africa. The seminar brought together notable publishers and others from across Africa and beyond and included 2007 Prix Voltaire recipient Trevor Ncube from Zimbabwe.
