Delegates from 43 countries across all continents will gather in Kuala Lumpur, with the largest delegation coming from Asia, alongside strong participation from Europe, North America and Africa. The Congress promises a vibrant exchange of ideas, collaboration and business opportunities for the global publishing community.

To help delegates prepare for their visit, the organizing committee has launched the IPA Congress 2026 Info Pack, a comprehensive online resource featuring registration details, the day-to-day programme, travel information, cultural visits, social events and practical tips to help delegates make the most of their stay in Malaysia.

Asian Rights Fair Special Edition at the International Publishers Congress

On 30 June, Perbadanan Kota Buku, the Strategic Organizing Partner of IPA Congress 2026, hosted an online briefing for participants of the Asian Rights Fair (ARF) @ IPA Congress 2026, the Congress’ dedicated business matching programme. This marks the first time in the history of the International Publishers Congress that a structured B2B rights and business matching platform has been incorporated into the official programme.

The briefing was opened by Sheikh Faisal Sheikh Mansor, President of MABOPA, who introduced Adibah Omar, Chief Executive Officer of Perbadanan Kota Buku. A government agency under Malaysia’s Ministry of Education, Perbadanan Kota Buku plays a key role in advancing the growth and internationalisation of Malaysia’s book industry. It is also the organiser of the Asian Rights Fair (ARF), one of the region’s leading rights and business matching events.

Adibah outlined the objectives of ARF @ IPA Congress 2026 and demonstrated the online B2B system, which has successfully facilitated hundreds of business meetings at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair. The briefing was recorded and made available through the IPA Congress 2026 Info Pack, allowing delegates to revisit the session and familiarize themselves with the platform before arriving in Kuala Lumpur.

The 35th International Publishers Congress will be held from 5–9 July 2026 at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and feature ceremonies for the IPA Prix Voltaire, the IPA Champion Award and the IPA Innovation in Publishing Award, alongside a stellar line-up of speakers.
