IPA’s Director of Communications and Freedom to Publish, James Taylor joined the three-day event held in hybrid format from Bamako, Mali. His presentation focused on two of last year’s State of Publishing Reports – Reading Maters and Ambitious Literary Policies. He shared the different kinds of studies on reading habits that were being conducted as well as the range of public policies that can be used to support the publishing sector.

He closed his presentation by encouraging publishers in Francophone Africa to submit relevant books for the newly announced Africa Chapter of the Sustainable Development Goals Book Club which will include books in French, English, Arabic and Kiswahili.
