On 29 May 2019 the second list of books for the UN SDG Book Club were announced. The list of titles in all six official UN languages, aimed at children aged 6-12, focuses on the second sustainable development goal – Zero Hunger.
1 in 9 people in the world don’t have enough to eat. This also affects many children, especially in developing countries where 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry. The new reading list for SDG2: Zero Hunger includes books with characters who grow food, don't have enough food or decide to share their food.
The SDG Book Club website includes information to help children learn more about what they can do to make a difference as well as tips for creating or participating in a book club so people can share their thoughts with friends and family.
