IPA President, Gvantsa Jobava, attended BSILF and spoke on the panel Black Sea Book Markets: A Year of Turbulence, which examined developments across Black Sea publishing markets over the past year and the challenges facing the sector.
Jessica Sanger, Chair of the IPA Freedom to Publish Committee, took part in Black Sea Speaks Freedom: Freedom of Expression, Freedom to Publish. Moderated by Gvantsa Jobava, the session brought together publishers, writers and free-expression advocates from across the region to discuss current threats to freedom of expression and the freedom to publish.
The two sessions reflected key issues facing publishers today, from market instability and regional developments to censorship, access to ideas and the protection of diverse voices. You can access photos from the event here.
