IPA’s Director on the IFRRO Board, Ana del Arco, and IPA Secretary General, José Borghino, were both in Bucharest from 2 to 4 June for IFRRO’s mid-year meeting. The event attracted nearly 130 participants from almost 60 member organizations as well as local government representatives, WIPO guests, and other guest speakers.
The IPA took this opportunity to emphasize publishers’ commitment to voluntary licensing of our content wherever it is allowed by local laws. In this, we were supported by the Federation of European Publishers (FEP), the International Association of Scientific, Technological and Medical Publishers (STM) and several Collective Management Organisations (CMOs). The meeting was also an opportunity for the Public Lending Right International group (of which IPA is a member) to publicize our forthcoming conference in Rome on 24 September. The presentation and other relevant materials from the Bucharest meeting are available to IFRRO members via the Members Zone.
