Jobava held working sessions with the Emirates Publishers Association, including discussions on the International Publishers Congress, which Sharjah will proudly host in 2028. She also met with the Arab Publishers Association to exchange views on the challenges, priorities, and needs of publishers’ associations from Arab countries that are members of the IPA.
She also participated in a panel discussion on quality education and academic publishing, in which she shared perspectives on academic publishing and its role in maintaining global educational standards. Santiago Romero, Director General of ANELE, representing educational publishers in Spain, discussed the transition towards digital learning tools and the operational challenges facing educational publishers.
In addition, IPA Executive Committee member Ahmed Rashad participated in a panel focused on countering digital piracy and protecting intellectual property.
The visit provided an important opportunity to deepen understanding of the Arab book market and strengthen cooperation with IPA members in the region. It was also marked by productive discussions and valuable opportunities to further strengthen collaboration across the international publishing community.
