This year, the Encuentro was held in the city of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia in northwest Spain. Borghino spoke about the IPA’s historical connection to Spanish publishing and our work in the international arena, especially with regard to Copyright and Freedom to Publish.
The panel was moderated by José Manuel Anta, Vice Chair of the IPA’s Education Publishers Forum, and included Enrico Turrin , the Deputy Director of the Federation of European Publishers, and Jorge Corrales the Director General of the Spanish CMO, CEDRO.
The panel agreed that international markets were particularly important for publishers in Spain, especially considering their exports to Latin America. While in Santiago, Borghino met with the FGEE’s newly elected President Manuel González Moreno, as well as IPA Executive Committee member Fernando Benzo.
