The International Book Fair LIBER returns to Madrid from October 4-6, 2023, the premier showcase for the Spanish book industry. Organized by IFEMA MADRID and championed by the Federation of Publishers’ Guilds of Spain (FGEE), the fair will be conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and digital elements, while serving as one of the largest global gatherings for Spanish-language literature.

Poland has been chosen as the Guest of Honor for this edition, with the Book Institute and the Polish Cultural Institute collaborating in a special joint initiative to promote Polish literature and publications in Spain, while also spotlighting noteworthy Polish authors and publishers.

The fair’s program includes conferences, round tables, lectures, dialogues, and presentations on a vast array of topics, including the development of publishing in various regions, pollution and sustainability in publishing, diversity in youth literature, the evolution of technology, among others. The book fair also hosts an array of meetings with industry representatives from around the world, including IPA past President Ana María Cabanellas, José Ignacio Echeverria the Chair of the IPA Associate Member the Grupo Ibero Americano de Editores (GIE), and President of the FGEE and former member of IPA Executive Committee, Daniel Fernández.
