As usual, IPA will bring together a delegation of publishers from around the world, giving Member State representatives the opportunity to hear about the situation on the ground for publishers in their countries and regions. Among the new non-governmental organizations being consider for accreditation is IPA associate member, the African Publishers Network (APNET). Their voice will be a valuable addition to SCCR discussions.
The agenda for the week-long discussion will continue with the long-standing discussions over a Broadcasting Treaty (25 years and counting) followed by the areas that are likely to effect publishing more significantly – namely limitations and exceptions for libraries, archives, educational and research institutions and for persons with other disabilities.
There will be another information session on Artificial Intelligence and IPA is itself preparing a side event on the topic to take place on the Thursday and delivered by Peter Schoppert from Singapore.
The last day will close with the discussions on other issues including a study on the Public Lending Right.
