A new UNESCO report, Reading in the Mobile Era, reveals the rapid growth in people who consider their mobile phone to be the most convenient, affordable and accessible reading portal.

The study, which draws on over 4,000 surveys collected in seven developing nations, highlights the phone's role in advancing literacy and nurturing a culture of reading. It also reveals how mobile reading presents a compelling growth market for publishers.
