The agenda kicks off with a session on the use of artificial intelligence in publishing, led by Jaume Vicens and Xavier Fabrega from Vicens Vives, a leading educational publisher in Spain.

Following this, Giulia Marangoni from the Associazione Italiana Editori (AIE) in Italy will present on the European Union’s Text and Data Mining (TDM) Reservation Protocol. This machine-readable solution is designed to help publishers reserve their rights in the context of AI. The protocol, developed by a W3C Community Group and coordinated by AIE and EDRLab, is a significant step forward for protecting publishers’ interests in the evolving digital landscape.

The meeting will conclude with a panel discussion on government interference in educational publishing, a topic of increasing concern for the industry. The panel, moderated by Stephan De Valk, Former Chair of the IPA EPF, will feature a diverse group of speakers, including Dessislava Alexieva (Bulgaria), Brian Gilsenan (Ireland), Hugo Setzer (Mexico), Ildiko Török (Hungary), and Sheikh Faisal (Malaysia). These experts will discuss the challenges posed by governmental policies and regulations on educational content and the implications for publishers globally.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
