The discussion explored the career crossroads women encounter on their paths to leadership, including the transition from expert to people leader, building authority without conforming to stereotypes, navigating visibility and conflict, and the unwritten rules that can make leadership harder to access.
Participants also reflected on how these experiences can differ depending on individual backgrounds and identities, and on the importance of creating more inclusive pathways to leadership. Networks, mentorship and sponsorship were discussed as important tools for sharing knowledge, building confidence and creating opportunities.
The conversation also provided space for participants to exchange experiences and reflect on what has supported — and what has not — their own journeys into leadership.
