A crucial part of IPA's mission is to inform member associations and the wider global publishing community about breaking developments which will impact publishers. We do this through a number of channels. the IPA website, our monthly e-newsletter, press releases and the IPA's dedicated social media feeds.

FEP has recently concluded an important stock-taking exercise based on information shared by their members which paints a picture of how the COVID-19 csis has affected the European book market. IPA has been following the regional developments and the studies and surveys conducted by our members on this matter closely.

The International Publishers Association is extremely concerned by reports in the GuardianGlobal Times and The Wall Street Journal among others that books by prominent protester, Joshua Wong, and Hong Kong politician, Tanya Chan, have been removed from public libraries and bookshops as the new Chinese Security Law is implemented in Hong Kong. 

Vietnam Flag

The International Publishers Association has co-signed a statement calling on Vietnamese authorities to cease their crackdown on independent media and those who express dissent and to protect and promote the rights to freedom of expression, opinion, and information, in line with Viet Nam’s obligations under international law.
